Teacher PD Stipends for Colorado's Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement

NGPF is offering a $500 PD Stipend opportunity for Colorado public high school teachers to support implementation of the NEW Colorado financial literacy graduation requirement under HB25-1192.

House Bill 25-1192 was signed into law on May 23, 2025 by Governor Jared Polis, guaranteeing all Colorado public high school students will take a course that incorporates all of the HS financial literacy standards.

Next Gen Personal Finance is committed to supporting the implementation of Colorado's new statewide financial education requirement through:

Colorado Financial Literacy Teacher Stipends

To ensure successful implementation of the personal finance course requirement under HB25-1192, NGPF is providing $500 stipends for up to 400 active Colorado public high school teachers who complete 20 hours of NGPF Professional Development.

Beginning on July 1, 2025, the first 400 Colorado public high school teachers to complete 20+ hours of NGPF PD will earn a $500 stipend.

  • No application necessary. Login with your NGPF Teacher Account and register for PDs to get started.
  • Stipends are paid once per quarter (April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15) as $500 Amazon eGifts cards emailed directly to Colorado public high school teachers who have accrued 20 hours of NGPF Professional Development after July 1, 2025.
  • Any combination of NGPF PD counts toward educators' 20 hours for the stipend.
    • Certification Courses: 10 hours of live instruction delivered over a five-week period in 11 different content areas including behavioral economics, cryptocurrency basics, insurance and investing.
    • On-Demand modules: Build content knowledge through 40+ self-paced, asynchronous modules that cover a wide range of personal finance topics.
    • Virtual PD: Live virtual events offered multiple times weekly to help you brush up on your content knowledge and collaborate with other educators.
    • FinCamps: earn 7 hours of PD credit by attending one of our in-person collaborative workshops.

Where can I sign up for professional development workshops to earn the stipend?

Registration is easy and all NGPF PD is free. Visit ngpf.org/ngpf-academy/ or the On-Demand LibraryCertification CoursesVirtual PD CalendarVirtual Conference Events, and FinCamp pages to sign up.

How will the stipends be provided?

NGPF will automatically tally teachers' hours and notify them if they are recipients of the stipend after the quarter in which they complete their 20th credit. Eligible teachers will receive an email with a $500 Amazon eGift card.

When are the stipends paid?

Because NGPF is a public charity that is subject to frequent financial audits, stipends are not paid immediately upon a teacher reaching 20 hours.

Instead, stipends are paid approximately 15 days after the end of the quarter in which teachers earn their 20th credit:

  • For teachers who earn their 20th credit in Q1 (January 1 - March 31), payment is around April 15th
  • For Q2 (April 1 - June 30): payment around July 15th
  • For Q3 (July 1 - Sep 30): payment around October 15th
  • For Q4 (October 1 - December 31): payment around January 15th

Teachers, to avoid delays in processing your stipend:

  1. Please confirm your school and state is listed correctly in your NGPF Account > My Profile
  2. If you use NGPF On Demand modules as part of your 20+ hours for the stipend, please note that each module is designed to take about 1 hour to complete and takes our team up to 10 days to review. Answer questions in-depth to ensure that you receive credit for completed modules.

I already completed 20 hours of NGPF PD before the start of the program on July 1, 2025. Will I receive a $500 stipend for this prior work?

No. The $500 stipend will only be paid for hours completed on or after July 1, 2025.

If I complete 40 hours of PD, will I be eligible for a second stipend?

No. While each public high school teacher is only eligible for one $500 Amazon eGift card under this program, we encourage everyone to take as much PD as you need to prepare to teach this life-changing course!
